Course Title: Working at Height
Course Duration: 3 hours

Remote Learning: Available
Description:
This Ladder Safety & Working at Height training course helps you to comply with the Work at Height Regulations 2005 by providing employers and employees with the necessary information needed to be able to successfully deal with working at height risks and control measures. This includes an understanding of how to undertake a working at height risk assessment, how to use access equipment safely and how to ensure that employees can reduce their risk of falls from height.
Every employer must ensure that employees are appropriately trained to ensure that they can carry out their work safely.
Syllabus:
A range of subjects are covered including:
– Examples of common working at height tasks and understand the associated risks
– Identify the factors that contribute to persons and objects falling from height
– Describe the control measures to reduce the risk of falls from height
– Understand the proper use of access equipment and safe methods of access to reduce or eliminate the risk of falls
Certification:
This is achieved by on-going theoretical teaching by the instructor, culminating with a written test.
This qualification does not expire, but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies and procedures is vital to keep the certificate current.
Numbers:
A maximum of 12 learners are allowed, they must be a minimum of 16 years of age and a certificate achievement can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
A learner cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role.
